As data takes a bigger role in day-to-day digital interactions, including during the use of appliances, a need for an evolved internal equipment management portal was recognized, and finding the best way to solve for this set of tasks is a priority.
Using a human-centered design approach during a 6-week accelerator my team and I dove into the current experience to understand the expectations around the equipment portal, collaborating with the client stakeholders and internal user groups into the creation of current state journey maps, which helped visualize the possibilities for the future state.
Our team created a future-state journey map of the customer’s experience, the moments that matter, and the key activities of internal users that support those moments.
We worked collaboratively with the client to prioritize the key activities of the hero personas and translated those into epics. The focus of these epics was to provide a more detailed solution that would set the benchmark for the new version of the equipment management portal.
We delivered future-state process flows for each of the 5 stages, 2 hero-personas, a communication flow map, multiple clickable wireframes with user-research-backed UI writing which were key to supporting the socialization with sponsors and the preparation for next steps.
